EE-3 Super Echo 70s tape echo n/p |
| Description |
This Japanese 1970s tape echo is potentially a fantastic machine - compared favourably to the Echoplex, for instance, by Guitarsenal on youtube. BUT at the moment it needs some tweaking. The tape rotates fine, the sliding 'MODE CONTROLLER' delay control works fine, but the output is very prone to self-oscillation. You get some great atmospheric sounds, but getting clean echo/reverb is pretty impossible. It needs someone who knows these machines to sort it. The current tape loop in it makes a thump each time it passes the playback head, but there are spare tapes in a little container. Cosmetically it has some paint scrapes under the top lid where the unwontedly large UK mains plug has sat in the storage hole designed for a diminutive Japanese one - this machine (like all of them?) was originally Japanese voltage before being converted to 240V. But everywhere else it is seriously lovely - unusual tolex, garish gold lettering, and altogether total early 70s in excellent condition. Serial number 0393. Packing 6GBP. |
