 Make Triadex
Model Muse (partially OK +one for spares)
Description TRIADEX MUSES (two) - one partially working, one for spare parts. This could be called a 'Muse Project' as what is on offer is a Triadex Muse that is partially working. All the controls appear to work fine, and the groovy spacy green flashing LED display responds to Start, Stop, changes in tempo and other settings. The sole problem is - there is no sound, except for some clicks when the REST switch is turned on. These clicks also respond to tempo changes and other settings, indicating that the internal oscillator may not be completely out of action. As a fairly primitive early 70s device with a simple oscillator, it may well be possible to bring this fascinating instrument back to life. In addition, a second Muse (marked with a large 'X') is included in this lot. It is non-working, as it has been slightly cannibalised in order to repair another Muse, so it is for 'spare parts' only. It may well contain the parts needed to get the first Muse back into action. These are extremely rare machines - about 300 made in the early 70s. Cosmetically both the wood and metal sides of the synths are in good condition, with inevitable minor wear and tear. Since this seller acquired them, they have only been used in his (non-smoking, no pets) home studio. Both were working perfectly when acquired, so the loss of sound is not due to any physical damage, but more probably to the normal aging of certain components. Two very detailed users manuals plus circuit diagrams will be sent to the buyer upon request (PDFs). Serial numbers: 00867-116, 00731-113. Voltage: 115-125V (works fine on 100V) with US 2-pin plug. The location is Japan, but as they are lightweight (about 4kg) shipping for EACH Muse to the UK/Europe should be reasonable: approximately £25 surface, or £65 air, and slightly more to the USA (they will be shipped separately to ensure better, safer packing). NOTE - I am also selling one more Muse, recently overhauled and in perfect working condition. See separate listing, Lot 30442. There are many videos on youtube showing what this fascinating device can do. Especially this seller's video, where the three Muses now on VEMIA are shown playing in sync (narration mainly in Japanese)! LINK: https://youtu.be/yUCl-QjW6gs?si=JLbSCsp_NvPaVckI&t=50
