 Model MiniWave Module
Description Wiard / Blacet MiniWave Module in 5U MOTM Format - Fully Expanded with Professional Build

This is the Blacet MiniWave module (originally in FracRac format) that was built in 5U in the MOTM Format, using the panel from Stooge Panels. After getting the module from Blacet (one of the last they had), I got the 5U faceplate, the MiniWave Expander board, the JLH-2090 CV Daughterboard, along with all of the sound ROMs from David Hylander (these were about the last he had). The module was then built for me by Dave Brown of Modular Synthesis, and he did a magnificent job! As new condition, barely used.

Here's the list of ROMs that this MiniWave has:

* MiniWave EPROM A - 'factory' MiniWave bank by Grant Richter

* MiniWave Socket Rocket- contains 256 more waveforms, this ROM was also developed by Grant Richter

* Vector 1 - Sine, triangle, saw and square waves in each corner of a fully interpolated 16x16 matrix. Plug a joystick into the CV inputs and go nuts.

* Vector 2 - Saw and square, like Vector 1, but the sine and triangle waveforms are replaced by FM- generated waves with interesting spectral content. Whereas a filter effect can be simulated by vectoring to the sine wave with Vector 1, Vector 2 is designed to be used in conjunction with a filter.

* Vowels - Morphing vowel sounds based on samples of my voice. Single cycle waveforms of vowel sounds are not intended to be the ultimate in realism, but the waves do have a vocal-like quality.

* Morphine - Smoothly transforming waves designed to add some animation to an oscillator bank. 32 unique waveforms with 14 steps of interpolation.

* Bosch Gardens - A useful collection of alternate waves. Some banks are intentionally disjointed and others share common harmonic structures. One bank is designed for simple drones and brings in subtle harmonics.

* GR-New.256 - 256 more Waveforms from Grant Richter, and provided by David Hylander

* Scale Quantizer - Turn your MiniWave into a flexible scale quantizer. Classical modes, melodic & harmonic minors, major/minor pentatonics, Lydian b7, Phrygian n3 in every key. Simply page to another bank to transpose a static melodic pattern to another key. Page to another 'wave' for modal transposition. Also includes all whole tone scales, chromatic quantitization and several banks of walking melodic patterns relative to the key of C aeolian. How is this possible? By entering each of the 65536 values in this ROM! This is an amazing ROM - it is arranged as follows: The first 12 banks are dedicated to each Key. Bank 1 is 'C'. Bank 2 is 'C#/Db'. Bank 3 is 'D' etc. Within each bank, the 16 'waves' quantize to various scalar modes. So let's say you have a sequencer sending a melody line. You can transpose this melody into different keys by simply choosing a different bank from the MiniWave. Within a given key (MiniWave bank) you can change the scalar mode that is being used by changing the chosen waveform within the bank. There remain 4 more 'banks' in the Scale Quantizer ROM that the designer has made good use of. One of them is a bunch of arps, one of them is octave sets, one of them is a 'grab bag', and the final one is a collection of fun 'walking melody lines arranged around C natural'.

Blacet Research still has a wide choice of additional wavetable ROMs for sale.
