| Description |
he Solina String Synthesizer is a combination of the the famous Solina Ensemble with a built-in ARP Explorer. Apparently only 100 units were manufactured.
It's in great functional shape and sounds glorious, as expected. However, there is two things I'd like to mention:
1. The 'MANUAL' button in the 'SYNTHESIZER KEYING' section, sometimes needs an extra push to stay activated.
2. The 'RELEASE' slider in the 'ADSR ENVELOPE GENERATOR' section is very sensitive. Seems like the entire release action is happening within the first 20% of slider capacity. I'm not even sure if this is an error, I just find it odd.
Other than that, this is an extremely well kept specimen with only a couple of small dents around the edges. It had a full overhaul in 2020 (see invoice from repair shop in picture) and has just been cleaned inside out and the Explorer part fully calibrated. Even the small envelope with spare fuses, resides inside this beauty as seen on one of the pictures.
At some point most knobs and sliders have been copper coloured. I've tolerated this during my time of ownership but last week, when I decided I'd put it up for sale, I began to wipe off the paint. So far I've spend 3 full days and have made considerable progress but as seen on the pictures, there's still some left (mostly on the bottom and the sides of the switches) for a rainy day.
It's heavy and fragile, so expect shipping to be a costly affair.
