BRIAN ENO'S FAMOUS DX7 & SOUNDS |
Description |
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INSTRUMENTS IN 20th CENTURY MUSIC! BRIAN ENO'S YAMAHA DX7. The DX7 is one of the most successful of all electronic instruments, but there have been surprisingly few musicians associated with it as their main instrument. The biggest exception by far is Brian Eno, who famously used it as his main keyboard for many years, making many recordings with it as a main source of sounds. This was also the era of his producing some of the biggest records in rock history, including all those classic U2 songs.
The DX7 is quite a difficult instrument to master, but Eno was for more than a decade the acknowledged master.
This instrument is not in the best cosmetic condition. It has clearly been moved around so many times that there is considerable wear on the paintwork to the front and rear. But DX7s were very well-made, and it has survived all this traffic remarkably well. It is currently being serviced by Lucid Sound, to make sure that it is in full playing condition. But they have clear instructions to keep everything as is, and not to attempt any renovation.
As well as written provenance to prove this is Eno's DX7, there will be four banks of his sounds (fully authenticated) in the machine. It also comes with the original (very early) owner's manual. |
