Description |
BLACET SYN-BOW PERSONAL SYNTHESIZER
Extremely rare self-contained wand synthesizer designed by John Blacet of Blacet Research.
From the 1978 promotional brochure:
The Syn-Bow
A Remarkable Personal Synthesizer
The Syn-Bow's LSI Circuitry provides great sound and excellent expressive control in a tiny easy-to-assemble package. Hold it, wear it like a guitar or play it on a flat surface. The logical alternative to the profusion of keyboard synths. Check out the innovative features!
ATTACK SENSOR - Controls waveshape, loudness, and duration for expressiveness unusual in any electronic instrument.
PULSE WIDTH CONTROL and sweep for variable harmonic content.
FREQUENCY MODULATION - For vibrato, etc.
SUBOCTAVE Mix for dual VCO sound.
NATURAL FILTER PATCH - Controlled via the ATTACK SENSOR and is responsible for the 'organic' quality of the Syn-Bow's sound.
FREQUENCY BOW - 300 degrees and 36 inches of high resolution frequency control, 3-octave range. Play any scale or tuning, no keyboard or fret restrictions. Complete control of glide and bend.
SOUND RANGE - Blown, bowed or plucked type sounds; i.e.: brass, strings, bass.
COMPACT AND LIGHTWEIGHT - 24 inches long by 2 inches wide.
CONTROL VOLTAGE AND TRIGGER OUTPUTS for synchronous operation of external devices. 9V batteries of +/-15V operation. Redwood case.
This unit is being checked out by my technician. So rare, even John Blacet doesn't have anything on it, or even an old one sitting around!
