| Description |
Fairlight CMI Series 2X Computer Musical Instrument serial number 0884313 - complete system from 1984. This CMI was the 313th Fairlight manufactured - in August 1984. The Fairlight CMI is in good working order.
The system is comprised of: CMI computer mainframe, CMI music keyboard, CMI VDU monitor, light pen, interface cables, original user manual, MU Studio SD card flash kit and one box of ten unused 8inch floppy disks. The SD card will include system 20, complete Fairlight factory library, additional third party sounds and CMI utility/diagnostics software. System 20 was the final version for the Series 2X which includes the legendary Page R sequencer. The SD card can emulate up to two 8inch floppy drives which enables you to run the CMI system from the SD card. The 8inch floppy drive is fully operational however the system is much faster to use when the SD flash kit is emulating both drives.
There is one Mitsubishi M2896-U half width 8inch direct drive floppy drive currently installed in the mainframe.
All system components, VDU monitor, ANK Qwerty keyboard, music keyboard, light pen and computer mainframe power supply are working.
The Fairlight is available for collection in the U.K near the M4 and M5. I can also ship the system worldwide with DHL Express. The CMI system will be extremely well bubble wrapped and double boxed to ensure sufficient protection in transit. The shipment will consist of four boxes:
Box 1: CMI computer mainframe, system cables, light pen and user / service manuals.
Box 2: CMI Music keyboard
Box 3: CMI VDU Monitor
Box 4: **CORRECTION**: CMI ANK Qwerty keyboard, box of 10 unused 8” floppy disks.
DHL shipping price to Europe is approximately £ 300.00 using a 3-5 day service
DHL shipping price to the USA / Australia approximately £ 350.00 using a 5-7 day service.
For a buyer outside the UK, on the shipping form I can describe the shipment as ' vintage second hand computer instrument for spares or repair ' and can state a much lower value for shipping in order to minimise any import duty for the buyer at the buyer's risk.
Please note that the factory stand in the photos is NOT included in the sale.
