GL4000 British 32 ch analogue mixer |
Description |
New low price.
32 channel very well designed excellent condition pro mixer, very well-respected in the industry. Originally intended as much for live use as for studio, but very effective in the studio - this one comes from the home studio of a well-known musician.
32 channels of good-sounding British EQ, good group facilities, good mic pre-amps, smooth faders, direct outs ... once you've used one of these you probably won't go back ITB again! You'll need space, and cabling, and a bit of outboard, but the whole hands-on experience is so much more satisfying!
**This comes with its soft cover (not photographed), very good for keeping dust off it when not in use.**
No known faults except that a few of the meter bridge lights are down (not important in the studio), and the ends of the connector lead between the power supply and the desk have insulating tape round them. It comes with a very solid wheeled flightcase, but really the whole thing needs to be hand delivered. As usual we could do that in many areas of UK and northern mainland Europe. The 32-channel version is ideal, really - enough channels for all normal home studio uses, but not ridiculously heavy - an easy two-person lift.
There's a useful thread about the GL4000 (and using it as a studio mixer) on gearslutz:
https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-electronic-music-production/983148-allen-heath-gl4000-studio-mixing.html The mixer is now discontinued, but there is good info here: http://www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/gl4000/ |
