Description |
**SOME SMALL BITS OF BAD NEWS AND SOME VERY GOOD NEWS! - read on!**
One of the rarest mass-produced synths of all time, and especially one of the rarest Moogs. This example is also in stunningly nice cosmetic condition, too. Everything looks almost as new, except that some of the tabs below the keys are discoloured **and two keys have nibbles out of their undersides**. The tops on the controls to the left of the keyboard, which on most Satellites and Minitmoogs split down the middle and eventually fall off, are **very good - a couple have the start of a split but the others are perfect.**. Unlike the Satellite, this is actually quite a handsome instrument, with black tolex instead of the Satellite's mix of fake and real wood. It also sounds much better than the Satellite, with the twin oscillators giving it a lot more depth and interest. ***The really good news is that the synth is now perfect - the keyboard is now fully functional, including the aftertouch, and various things have been calibrated, so that the presets now sound lovely.*** We think the Satellite is under-rated, and actually has great vintage character, thanks to its almost entirely discrete circuitry. But the Minitmoog blows it away - it really is super-sounding. I believe Bob Moog had to get personally involved with the Satellite project after the initial results were pretty disappointing, and I wonder if this rare elaboration is more his brainchild. It will come with a beautiful and comprehensive original user and service manual for the Minitmoog and Satellite, also in genuinely near-mint condition. US voltage. Packing 6GBP. |
