 Make Yamaha
 Model CP80
Description Yamaha CP 80. Serial No.4761 in very good condition with matching A4115H monitor speaker. Current owner (12 years) is fully qualified piano tuner/technician, and the instrument will be tuned before sale. Original owner is believed to have been David Essex. The current owner bought it from a piano technician who claimed to have known the instrument from this period. The piano shows very few signs of having been used on the road. The action and hammers are in the vendor's opinion, in excellent condition throughout, and the hammers show very little signs of wear, and have their original striking surfaces. Sonically and mechanically, this is the best example he has seen. The belief that it has only seen studio or domestic use is backed up by the inclusion of the very rare Yamaha fitted dust cover being present, but one of the two flight case panels which protect the mechanism whilst in transit is missing. This should not trouble the future owner, because CP80s are so very rarely transported on the road these days owing to their size and weight. Most CP users wishing to use one on the road have the smaller and lighter CP70. The sonic improvements and the full compass of the CP80 mean that they are far more suited to studio use. The hammer-retaining bar is still installed, so road use is possible if desired, but more care must be taken. A replacement panel could probably be simply constructed. Cosmetically this CP80 is very good indeed, with only minor paint abrasion to the reinforced corners, tarnishing to rear logo and the odd compression mark in the tolex covering. There are no rips or tears. The key coverings which can display hairline cracks on CP pianos is pristine. The fall and control panel is near perfect and all switches and rotary controls are noiseless. All legs, pedal and mains adaptor (these instruments require a DC supply) are present, as is a CP70 (not 80) operation manual. Also included with the sale is a cosmetically excellent example of the companion powered 100W monitor speaker A4115H with fitted home-made cover. This is an untested unit, but believed to be in good working order and must be collected with the CP80. This unit is complete with original sales brochure and operation manual. The sale of the CP80 is to free up space in my studio, and since the monitor speaker takes up space as well, it is a condition of sale that this goes too. [VEMIA note: we are very likely to be able to offer collection and delivery in most of north-western Europe if needed.]
