 Make Wurlitzer
 Model Orbit synth
Description A one-of-a-kind synthesiser that was originally part of a large Wurlitzer Orbit organ. I had a 220V power supply fitted so that it can now operate independently. Aside from being a beautiful piece of design (probably from the early 70s), it has a rather fascinating sound for those who appreciate early electronics (think Raymond Scott and the like). There are 10 stackable presets: 5 correspond to organ stops and sound like a characterful combo organ, whilst the other 5 are designed to mimic various instruments. The ‘string’ preset has a very Farisa-like sound, and the ‘chimes’ preset offers a slightly dissonant and definitely cool sound. It has basic attack and sustain controls, and a vibrato/LFO that operates in the audio range and can produce ring-mod-like sounds. A quick demo can be heard here (direct recording with a light UAD Plate reverb) https://soundcloud.com/johangirard/orbit
