Minimoog-The Enid, mid 70s. s/n3742 |
| Description |
Enid Minimoog Serial #3742 final inspection date: 11th Jan 1974
Can be seen in **Hammersmith Odeon concert on youtube recognisable as you can see the XLR jack mods.**
This fully restored Minimoog was Owned by prog rock band The Enid recognisable via the XLR connectors colour coded for the roadies.
It's was in a shocking state when I bought it - as it was kept in a home made wooden case - no padding with 'The Enid' artistically hand painted on the case - but there were protruding screws in the case sticking into the mini's woodwork. Unfortunately I don't have the case as the guy i bought it from skipped it.. fortunately i managed to buy the synth from him. -
Respectful restoration of the case stripped and sanded with 6 coats of danish oil - leaving all tour wounds for historic honesty and character - including a burn mark on the left side panel. -
New Electrolytic Caps replaced with quality Vishay replacements on Board 5 & Power board 3. Filter Board has all original caps. -
All new Control knobs apart from Oscillators knobs 2 & 3 - Also comes with original knobs. -
Keyboard Refurbished - Keys cleaned new silicone grease - action readjustment Bushings are in in good shape. - Plays great. -
Three C keys are off colour - was like this when i bought so - likely this was done by the Enid. -
Oscillator 2 was limited in range for live touring tuning stability. This mod has been removed and now functions correctly - resistors are included for historic reference. -
Original Buffer Board 6 is installed.
Power cable now made safe as it was a loose mains cable tied off round the fuse holders - So a New mains cannon socket and cannon mains plug + new cable with moulded uk mains plug added - as originally was probably an ordinary XLR as the whole was cut for an XLR socket-
Comes with all unbalanced XLR to jack leads 2 male to Jack and 3 female to jack inclusive and comes with a Moog padded gig bag.
It's not in the 2nd chance Sunday.
It's fully calibrated including filter tracking and now plays beautifully. |
