Ensoniq |

ESQ1 |
| Description |
This is the metal-case version of the ESQ-1 so it's built like a tank. Comes with the original Ensoniq flight case as pictured, plus the original manual and a third-party memory cartridge that holds 80 sounds.
It's a nice and unique polysynth offering a combination of fairly crunchy 8 bit waveforms going in to Curtis 3379 resonant analogue filters. You can get in the ballpark of some PPG or Prophet VS vibes, as well as make some very analogue sounding patches if you stick to the simple waveforms. Since there are 3 oscillators it can get pretty fat. Plus there's loads of modulation options.
This one's in really nice condition, one tiny rust spot, very minor wear, everything fully working, no dents or damage. It's been in my studio for the last 15 or 20 years having a nice gentle life.
I'm not sure if it has the sequencer expander cartridge. If someone really wants to know I can open it and check. I've included a photo showing the amount of sequencer memory free so hopefully that means something to someone.
The sequencer is actually really good and I used to use it a lot. It has an UNDO button which is pretty great for 1986. |
