E16 1/2 inch 16-track deck n/p |
| Description |
One-owner machine s/n 0700087 from a private studio, but only used a little (lent to a friend) in the last twenty-five years or more. Cosmetic condition is basically OK - some rust on the top of the case and on the other horizontal surface underneath the input / output section. A few paint scrapes but otherwise not bad. Now we come to the important bit: it switches on, it runs at the correct speed, and recorded signal appears on the meters. BUT fast forward and rewind were very sluggish indeed - something needs adjustment. It's mechanically very quiet. I seem to remember a few segments were missing on the meters too, but it wasn't crucial. Although it comes with a full reel of half-inch tape, and the take-up spool (and of course the original spool holders in good condition), when we finally re-wound the tape after the photos, the tape had shed a lot of oxide. |
