 Make Akg
Model Vintage AKG C60 poor man’s Elam!
Description Exquisite 1960s tube microphone from AKG incorporating the legendary AC701 valve. A beautiful sounding microphone, especially when paired with a large diaphragm capsule (Blue Bottle or AKG’s own CK4 for example). In fact, if you housed this with an original CK12 capsule from one of the early AKG 414s or C12A you would indeed have the sonic footprint of an original Telefunken ELAM 250. This is an excellent example with the rare and original AKG N60 power supply and associated cables. Housed in an old beat up metal case I had lying around but useful portable protection. The capsule provided with the mic is an AKG CK1 cardioid which also fits the later C451. One small item of note - the connector on the lead which attaches to the microphone has a piece of plastic missing. It has never been an issue and hasn't affected performance in any way but I would be inclined to recommend replacement.
