BX20 Spring Reverb (BX20E, Nov 75) |
Description |
A beautiful vintage BX20 stereo spring reverb cabinet with a venerable history. Arguably one of the best sounding reverb units ever made, super warm and lush 100% analog reverb.
This gorgeous cabinet belonged to Alvin Lee of 10 Years After, and resided in his studio for decades, before going to the studio of Chris Difford/Squeeze, then went to another studio (the name escapes me) before being bought by myself.
She's been around the block but is in excellent shape still - some very minor scuffs to the cabinet wood, in keeping with her vintage years, but no serious dings or damage. This unit was serviced and re-capped at Funky Junk in 2022, all works 100% and most importantly sounds fantastic, no hum or background noise at all, just super-lush analog spring reverb!
Ships with AKG remote control with very long cable (10m or so) - variable reverb time via the remote pots from approx 1.5 sec to approx 4 secs.
Please note this thing is as impractical as it is gorgeous - which is to say very. Its huge and extremely heavy, while being at the same time very delicate in its mechanism. I can pack and insulate the inner springs well, but International buyers must assume any and all risks of shipping, and UK buyers are advised to arrange moving it via Vemia, who can collect it from me and look after it properly. But its well worth it! [VEMIA note: unless we can deliver this by hand (possible in parts of UK depending on other journeys) we can palletise it with good shock protection: 60GBP.] |
