 Make Moog
Model Massive modular (R.A. Moog etc)
Description This is a real piece of musical history. A vintage Moog Modular with additions, 3-tiers, including all of the iconic modules ever made by Moog at the time of ELP, W. Carlos, Beatles etc. This is not the reissue. The original sound of MOOG modular from 60s / early 70s. Not comparable to any current release, in terms of sonic power, character and musical versatility. In this beauty, there are all the stock and additional, rarest Moog modules: from the 901 series (all original ones, the fattest but the most temperamental - I remember my - sadly - last message with Mr Kevin Lightner, who said 'they are impossible to tune over a couple of octaves'…) to the unobtainable Bode Frequency shifter, up to the uber rare and iconic spring reverb. And a lot more. Additional custom made ones, a Polyfusion dual ring modulator (not yet connected to the PSU, sorry…) and a fantastic DC system' module, with a lot of functions, described in a leaflet. I have not time to describe what the modules are for, neither do I think that you don’t know them, if you are thinking about bidding on this item. I can invite you to come here and listen to the sound as my guests. I am not a dealer, neither do I need to sell it (I am not that young anymore, my kids are not interested about synths, I am going to be retired in a couple of years from my academic role, that’s why I want to sell it). I have a large collection of synths, that needs to be slimmed down, now. The modules are in very good condition, esthetically, considering the age (half a century). Some scratches, not detectable but very close. Wood cabinets: the System 55 lower cabinets are original, some dings (minimal) and minor scratches. The upper is synthesizers.com, different wood color and has its independent power supply (original Moog modular). The keyboard is in great condition, not a scratch on the keys. Naturally, it does need a general thorough calibration, done by a serious and knowledgeable technician. In any case, a calibration is needed every time after moving the beast, that is sensitive to moving, temperature and different environments. The 901 setup is very hard to calibrate to play over extended octaves, due to their temperamental character itself. I shall clean the potentiometers and the switches myself with professional products (Caig) before shipping. This item was also exhibited at the PAN Museum at the Rock exhibition 2013 - Moog hall in Napoli, January / February 2013. It has a high collectible value. There is the signature of one of the greatest keyboardists ever: Keith Emerson. He gave me the honor of signing it after one of the very last concerts he gave in Naples before passing away (see pic). For shipping it abroad (it’s located in Italy) there are two options: the buyer comes to Napoli and picks it up, after checking it and sipping a good italian wine, or I can have it well packed into resistant wood boxes fit with foam and deliver it to a shipping company chosen by the buyer. Well insured… It’s heavy! If you are looking for such a real musical jewel, you’ll never have another opportunity like this.
