Eltro Rate Changer (Springer) 1966 |
Description |
After Anton Springer left TN, he went to work at Eltro Automation in Heidelberg, and seems to have taken the rights to his machine with him. This example, now with the English product name Rate Changer, was built in 1966 for the American market (115V, 60Hz). The distributors were the famous Gotham Audio, New York, and it looks like the owners were the equally famous Hollywood sound studio Glen Glenn Sound - who worked on practically every classic 50s / 60s / 70s TV series (I Love Lucy, Perry Mason, Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Happy Days, The Untouchables etc etc - and many films like Le Mans, Heaven Can Wait & Raise the Titanic. Plus Talking Heads' iconic Stop Making Sense. The machine is housed in a wooden cabinet which has suffered significant damage and will need repair. Working order unknown, but almost certain to need expert servicing. An extremely rare and interesting machine. Packing 18GBP. |
