 Make Arp
 Model Tonus 2600 &3604P, Roger Glover n/p
Description A very rare and desirable early ARP 2600 and 3604-P, ex Roger Glover of Deep Purple. No written provenance, but the early manufacture coupled with the ROGER GLOVER stencil on the cases are pretty overwhelming evidence. Cosmetically it is pretty good, apart from a couple of slider tops missing, and a major piece of tolex missing off one case. The seller has painstakingly serviced it over the years so that it is now in almost perfect working order - just a few things to finish up - see his thorough notes below.

'This synth has Roger Glover stamped on the outside of the tolex case (which has a big tear on one end), I speculate that this may be the one used for the live ‘Butterfly Ball’ project. When I received it in the late 90s it was partially non-functional and stayed that way until about 2017 – it seemed to have had electronic damage among the modules mainly on the right hand side, the central and left side modules were unaffected (or at least functional) The main faults were a combination of things, the VCA and the S&H was non-functional along with faults in the area of the envelope generators. I replaced a dead 4019 VCA with one built on veroboard following the same circuit as original but new transistors – I could not open the 4019 module to repair as it was a completely epoxy potted one (which probably puts a certain date on this synth, as slightly later ones would have had partially epoxied and partially silicone potting) – it was destroyed trying to get into it but the PCB inside the epoxy block was ‘rescued’ for possible future use/replication. At this age the old front panel Switchcraft patch sockets aren’t a tight connection so are likely to give insecure connections, and occasionally some of the normalised switched routing. The sliders have two broken shafts, one of which I rescued the knob, the other was missing. Many op amps needed replacing including non-functional envelope, some affected voltage processors and dead S&H and others replaced along the way if they seemed to be the same chip type and batch – I replaced op amps with TL071, mostly socketed. The VCF is the 4012 ‘Moog’ type, which is nice – includes the original manual and patchbook'. UK power and mains lead. [VEMIA note: We haven’t checked this since it arrived at VEMIA, and I’m fairly sure we won’t have time to do that. The seller is a very conscientious and knowledgeable guy. I think he is saying that it is working completely but that some of the Switchcraft jacks are not as reliable as they originally were. The title does say Tonus 2600 &3604P, Roger Glover n/p – where n/p means not perfect. But I think that is referring to the switches. I would think that this is in much better working condition than many similar-aged items which have not been thoroughly used or understood by their owners.] Packing 36GBP.
