DP3200 Programmable Audio Patchbay |
| Description |
Ex-BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and later in the freelance studio of Doctor Who composer Mark Ayres. I'm selling four of these in total. This auction is for one. (Don't panic about the 'BBC Property' sticker - that is to prove provenance, these were fully legitimate purchases! One unit doesn't have a sticker) These were designed to be used with an Akai desktop controller (the PG1000 Patch Bay Programmer - they occasionally come up on eBay), but both the BBC and Mark controlled them via MIDI, which is possible with a simple custom cable and a little ingenuity (Mark used a custom SoundDiver adaptation). Fitted with balanced outputs on multiway sockets, these BBC units have unbalanced breakout jack ins and outs on an additional BBC engineering custom (removable) back panel. All working some years ago but sold as seen. I have one user's manual and some service manual pages which went with the first of these units. I will make a link available for scans for others.
(Please note that other than the serial number plate, these four units all have the same pictures of just one of them. They are all the same.) VAT is payable by a UK buyer. |
